I had recently come across some vintage sunglasses suspected to be from the 1940's. Fraught with rusted temple tips and nose rests that had seen a lifetime or more of age, I was recommended by many in the community to go to Globe--"they are the experts in town." On a random Thursday, I stumbled in with little in the ways of expectation when it came to restoring these glasses. To my surprise, they were able to not only get them fitted for my giant head (it's a NY thing) they also replaced the temple tips and nose rests for no charge at all. I was pretty floored! This is a family owned business in an age where we are lucky to still have such places, I did not expect this kindness at all. So, as anyone would, I have to spread the good word. This is not only due to my experience, but also the general atmosphere of the business: photos of friends, a record player and a few chairs, and good music. It's clear they aren't looking to just get you in and out in a typical fashion. They want to know you, know your needs, and thus knowing that perfect fit for the customer.
